These are some
things we are often asked. Please
contact us if your question is not answered here.
What is coaching?
Coaching is a vehicle for
raising awareness and encouraging responsibility. It is about
results that can be seen, experienced, measured and quantified,
and it starts with the unique, productive, interactive
relationship between the coach and the client, based on 100%
commitment. Rather than endlessly revisiting the past, coaching
is exclusively about the now and the future. We will challenge
clients to recognise and build on their strengths, explore their
current reality and find positive ways to make changes and move
forwards. The whole process is designed to keep clients on
track, to celebrate their successes and to achieve their desired
outcomes. Back
How
does coaching work?
It is
based on
the premise that all clients are creative and resourceful with
the ability to elicit their own solutions. The skill and
practice of coaching is helping the client find those solutions,
bring them to the surface and convert them into positive
actions. Each session begins with where the client is now. It
ends with strategy and tactics, designed by the client, that
will move them nearer to their aspirations. This creates a new
‘now’ for the next session. The intent and the energy are
sustained. Coaching is never judgemental and never critical.
Coaching means education and learning replace conventional
success and failure, and only action gets a result. The action
itself is not important; it is the result of the action that
matters and coaching is about results.

How
often should I be coached?
The frequency of coaching
sessions is tailored to the needs of the client at the time and
the nature of the challenge as they perceive it. Some clients,
faced with an intense personal issue, will choose a
transition-day. Others find that a weekly session, with time to
explore options and test their thinking between times, is more
fruitful. Where changes may need more time, fortnightly
intervals work better. If the client feels ready for check-ins
and top-ups, then coaching can be monthly, or even quarterly.
And clients will often increase or decrease the frequency of
their coaching, as they feel the need. Whatever the current
pattern of coaching, clients have telephone and e-mail support
at all times between sessions.

How
long will I need coaching for?
As with frequency, this is
your decision. As long as you feel that coaching is helping to
move you forward, then we will work with you. When you feel you
have derived the full benefit from the process, then that is a
good place to finish. The tools and the challenges are yours. It
is not our intention to perpetuate a relationship beyond the
point where a client feels self-sufficient. At the start we
would suggest that you book at least four one-hour sessions.
Depending on the outcome you have achieved you are then in a
better position to judge how much extra you might need.
Back
What if
I want to stop being coached?
You may wish to stop being
coached because you now feel self-sufficient, or because your
circumstances have changed. You are free to call a halt whenever
you are ready. If you have paid for future sessions you now no
longer require, we will be happy to refund you on a just and
equitable basis. All we ask is at least 48-hours notice before
your next scheduled coaching session.

Who
uses a coach?
Anybody and everybody is the
short answer and the most successful people tend to use coaches
the most. That makes sense. Successful people value time, so the
quicker they can resolve an issue the better they do. Rather
than struggling with it alone they will use a coach as a
sounding board to clarify their thinking and get a satisfactory
resolution sooner. Clients come from all walks of life and take
many forms, from a young person struggling with their studies to
an older person wondering what to do with their retirement, from
a self-employed plumber to a businessman employing many others.

What
issues do coaches deal with?
The issues are as varied as
the organisations and the people who become our clients. These
can range from taking qualifications, to finding a job,
recruiting good employees, managing a workforce, fears and
phobias, procrastinating, meeting people, starting a business,
increasing sales, maintaining a sports training schedule,
increasing self-confidence, finding new customers...the list is
never ending and it is still growing.

What
are your terms of business?
Your own particular needs
will determine how we interact and that will indicate our fees.
Our Rates, as set out, can only deal
with those work arrangements we meet most frequently. However,
if you have a particular requirement, please call us to discuss
it. Coaching is infinitely flexible and we welcome the
opportunity to accommodate new clients.
Back
Our
Terms & Conditions
are, we believe, fairly balanced and free from legal jargon.
Coaching is a close relationship that demands honesty and trust
from both sides. If a client feels they have not benefited as
they first hoped then, where possible, we would rather refund
their fees than evoke disharmony through recourse to legalities.

Many people set out to look for the forest
and get lost in the trees.
In your dreams
coaching gives you the space,
time and tools to break out of this self-perpetuating cycle, get
a clear picture of what you want and helps you design a suitable
route map to your chosen destination.
Your first success has been recognising the
need for assistance.
Your second is having the good sense to call for
it.
