Does your relational compass point to
"lost"?
Our
life rests on a network of relationships, some of them not of
our choosing:
|
● Grand-parents |
●
Parents |
●
Brothers |
●
Sisters |
●
Aunts |
●
Uncles |
|
●
Cousins |
●
Sons |
●
Daughters |
●
Colleagues |
●
Partners |
●
Friends |
A wise
philosopher once observed that it is impossible to step into the
same river twice. That's also true of relationships. The person
who leaves home in the morning is not the same person when they
return in the evening. When we accept that we are not the same
person either it is amazing how many relationships persist and
no surprise that so many do not.
These
daily changes are essentially superficial and map onto an
existing personality imperceptibly. However, once in a while the
changes can be more profound, or maybe the daily increments
reach a tipping-point, and then it's not the same. The
relationship enters a period of strain and may start to break
down.
If a
critical relationship is at that point, or you wish to strength
it in preparation, then
in your dreams
can work with you in exploring the territory and establishing
some anchors against a troubled sea. Shift happens. It makes
sense to be ready.
Your first success has been recognising the
need for assistance.
Your second is having the good sense to call for
it.
