Are you looking at the outcome and
missing the performance?
If you want to know how a book ends, just
read the last page. If that knowledge is enough for you, then
great. However, if you prefer understanding to merely knowing,
then you will need to learn the process that fashioned the
performance that gave that result. Without the foundations and
internal structure, no fancy building will stand.
Some say competitions are fearful events, not realising they are
constantly competing
— usually against themselves.
And we all need challenges, because they bring out our best. We
even invent challenges, like circumnavigating the globe,
travelling to the moon, crosswords and SuDoku, as if there were
not enough challenges already.
Handling success is as important as handling setbacks.
Neither the success, nor the setback is you, it is an
experience. Take the most from both, then move on. Know yourself
better and improve your performance. Finding lessons in losses
and learning something from success puts you back in control.
For most top athletes
it isn't about the others, it's more about themselves and their
personal best. And when it's about improving performance and
pushing the boundaries, then
in your dreams
is ready to help.
Getting clear on your aims and the performance level needed to
deliver them is never easy alone. That's where we come in.
Your first success has been recognising the
need for assistance.
Your second is having the good sense to call for
it.

“A refined ability to lean from failure and to grow through
losses is necessary to achieve excellence in any human
endeavour.”
